This policy explains content ownership on Jagged Verse and our zero-tolerance approach to plagiarism and copyright infringement. It supplements our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

1. Ownership of Your Work

You retain full ownership and copyright of the original articles, images, and audio you publish on Jagged Verse. By publishing, you grant Jagged Verse a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, distribute, and promote your content on and through the platform (including newsletters, social channels, and featured placements).

2. You Must Have the Rights

  • Only publish work you created or have explicit permission and licensing to use.
  • Images, audio, and quotations must be your own, properly licensed, or in the public domain. Keep records of licenses where applicable.
  • Attribute sources and quoted material clearly.

3. Plagiarism Is Prohibited

Plagiarism — passing off another person’s words, ideas, or work as your own — is strictly forbidden. This includes:

  • Copying text from another author, website, or publication without permission and attribution.
  • Spinning or lightly rewording existing work to disguise its source.
  • Republishing AI-generated text as original reporting without disclosure where required.

4. Copyright Infringement & Takedowns (DMCA)

If you believe content on Jagged Verse infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] including: a description of the work, the URL of the infringing material, your contact information, and a good-faith statement of infringement. We will review and remove infringing content promptly.

5. Consequences

  • First confirmed violation: content removal and a formal warning.
  • Repeat or serious violations: forfeiture of pending payouts tied to the infringing work, loss of writer privileges, and account termination.

Acknowledgement of this policy is required during writer onboarding.
