The Good News

Do you know that God loves you?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

God wants to be your Heavenly Father and for you to be His child.

“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16–17).

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23)There is only one sin that separates you from God and that sin is not believing on Jesus Christ. “…Of sin, because they do not believe in Me,” (John 16:9)Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

Jesus said, “You must be born again” (John 3:7). Being born again means to be born from above. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh” (John 3:6). This speaks of the physical birth which we all have experienced. “That which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). This speaks of the spiritual birth which we have not experienced until we are born from above by God. This born-from-above-by-God experience is the spiritual birth which Jesus speaks of. You experience this spiritual birth when you receive Jesus as your Savior and when you make Him Lord of your life. When you receive Jesus as Savior, you get a new spirit from Jesus. You will come into personal relationship with God as your Heavenly Father and you will be His Child. Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior? “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’ (John 14:6).

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus said, “…the one who comes to Me, I will by no means cast out,” (John 6:37). “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved,” (Romans 10:9). Do you believe that Jesus has been raised from the dead? Do you believe that Jesus is alive today? If you believe, you can experience salvation (i.e., being born again) right now! If you will receive Jesus as your Savior and say with your mouth that He is your Lord, you will be saved. You will have eternal life! Your sins will be washed away by the blood of Jesus. You will experience the spiritual birth that Jesus spoke of and be born again! Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior? People have many reasons for believing that they do not need to receive Jesus as their Savior. Here are just a few of those reasons:

Reason 1: I’ve been a good person.

Response: Romans 3:10 says “There is none righteous, no, not one.” “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23).

Reason 2: I’ll go to heaven because I’ve done good works.
Response: Ephesians 2:8–9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Reason 3: I’m right with God because I joined my church or I’ve been raised in the church since I was a child.

Response: By joining a church, you belong to an organization. However, belonging to an organization or attending a physical building does not mean that you have a relationship with God. All must receive Jesus personally as Savior, not just join a church organization or be present in a church building. Each human being needs a spirit that has been reconciled or made right with God through Jesus Christ.

Reason 4: I’ve been baptized or christened as a baby.

Response: In the Bible, when a person was baptized with water, it always followed receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior, not preceded. Baptism and christening does not bring salvation. You must receive Jesus first as your Savior and then you may get water baptized.

Reason 5: I know that I need to receive Jesus but I’m not ready yet. I like to party, have plenty, or don’t need God right now. Others insist, I am young or I have time.

Response: Do you have time? 2 Corinthians 6:2 says, “…now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” The Bible says, “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26). “I will say to my soul, ‘Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you,’ (Luke 12:19–20)Earth’s tomorrow is not promised to you but eternity with God is promised to you through Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Reason 6: A loving God surely would not let me go to Hell.

Response: Are you sure? The stakes are high and you only have one chance to get this right (or wrong), forever. The Bible says in Luke 13:3 that unless you repent you will likewise perish. 2 Peter 2:4,6–9 says, For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell…reserved unto judgment… turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes…an example…unto those that after should live ungodly, the Lord knows how…to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.

Response 7: God won’t receive me because I’ve done so many evil things.

Response: That is a lie from the enemy. John 6:37 says ‘..the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.’ If you are backslidden, God will receive you like the prodigal son. “I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, ’Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son’ ” (Luke15:18–19)God will save you and forgive you of your sins and receive you, and if you are backslidden, He will receive you again. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” If you think it is too late for you, “the Lord is long suffering and not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance,” (2 Peter 3:9).

Reason 8: I do not believe there is a God.

Response: The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God,” (Psalm 14:1 and 53:1). The existence of God is undeniably true. Here’s the reality: if you think you believe that there is no God and you truly believ that then there’s nothing in this message of Good News that will convince but know this: God has an upcoming appointment with YOU. It is He who has made us and not we are ourselves, (Psalm 100:3).

Reason 9: I don’t believe in the Bible.
Response: 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.” “Your word is truth.”(John 17:17). History has verified the accuracy of events and the fulfillment of prophecies recorded in the Bible.

Reason 10: I know some Christians and Christians are hypocrites.

Response: Don’t allow the failings of other people to hinder you from receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Although people fail, Jesus never failed and He will never fail you!

Though there are some people and groups that attempt to complicate, intellectualize, or minimize the gospel, but it’s not complicated, in the least. Salvation from God through Jesus Christ is a gift and therefore, it is free. Jesus has always been ready and waiting to receive you, right now.

Jesus went to the cross to bear your sins. His blood was shed as He gave His life in paying the price of redemption. Jesus paid a great price for you! He came to set you free from sin and Satan’s authority so He can give you eternal life! Will you make Jesus your Lord and Savior now?

If you are sincerely ready to give your life to Him, please pray this prayer aloud, in faith, right now with your mouth:

God, I come to you now to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. I truly believe that Jesus has been raised from the dead and is alive now. I say with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord. I receive Jesus as my Savior. I am now a born-again child of God and You are now my Heavenly Father. Thank you for saving me and giving me eternal life! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then, on behalf of the saints in the body of Christ, I welcome you into your Heavenly Family. This is the most important decision you have ever made! ~ Amen.
